Last night I was doing Charlotte's bedtime. After we read our stories we said our prayers. Here is Charlotte's prayer:
Dear God, thank you for Mommy, Daddy, Ruby, Eliza, Rehm - even though I don't like him, Cici, Papa, Grandma, Grandpa, and Granny. Amen!
She didn't pause, skip a beat, change her tone, nothing! I guess the good news is she is praying for him even though she doesn't like him. It could be worse, right?

Oh Charlotte - I didn't like my brother for lots of years too. But I promise you that someday you will look at him and find that he has grown up to be your biggest champion, your greatest protector and someone you can turn to for anything.
ReplyDeleteIf all else fails, just remember all the embarassing stories you'll have about him and use them to your advantage!!

That is priceless. There were many a time I did not even feel that charitable towards my brother. It was especially bad when I had to hold his hand during prayer and church and he used it as the opportunity to mercilessly crush my fingers. Awwwww, big brothers.
