One morning I heard Eliza Claire in her room. It was obvious she was awake and very happy. When I opened her door she was singing to Bear. The song went like this:
Rehm climbed up the chocolate tree
Rehm is in the chocolate tree
Rehm fall down the chocolate tree
Rehm climbed up the chocolate tree...
I have no idea where it came from but she is very insistent that only Rehm can climb the chocolate tree. No one else is allowed.
Silly girl!

Happy Independence Day
Independence Day is one of our family's favorite holidays. Part of it is the tradition of going to a neighborhood parade, grilling out, having ice cream and watching fire works. But the bigger part is celebrating what a great country we get the privilege to live in.
We had portraits done yesterday and in Mayhem Mania tradition the children wore Independence Day themed clothing - well at least for some of the pictures. I think they came out great.
Here is a video by our favorite children's band, Go Fish, that I think is appropriate for today. Enjoy.
Hope everyone has a wonderful Independence Day. Remember it is not just the Forth of July.

Shock
On day this week I was on the phone with my Dad. We got cut off. Not a huge surprise, it just happens sometimes. This time though I could not call him back and my phone had an error message.
I tried turning off my phone and turning it back on. Still no service. I tried taking the sim card out and the battery out and leaving the phone off for several minutes, still no service. I tried googling the error message for more information, still no service. I knew this exhausted my options of fixing the phone and that a trip to the phone store to see what they said was going to be required.
Michael came home. I immediately told him my phone was broken, went through all the things I'd tried to fix it and said we were going to have to take a trip to the phone store. He the said, "Do you think this would help?" When I looked up he was holding up a brand new iphone! Needless to say I was shocked and very pleasantly surprised, especially since my birthday is still a week away.
I love the iphone. It is so easy to use and so intuitive. Not to mention just plain old fun.

Focaccia
Still enjoying the bread making. This time I made a focaccia to go with dinner. I followed this technique, but changed up the toppings.
For the adult one I used sun dried tomatoes, slivered garlic, oregano, sea salt and olive oil.
For the kid one I used peperoni, slivered garlic, pesto and then sprinkled it with mozzarella when it came out of the oven.
Both were yummy and we have left overs for lunch tomorrow.
